What does RES-CASP say?
The Council of Autism Service Providers (CASP) is a nonprofit trade association representing organizations that serve individuals with autism. CASP publishes the "Applied Behavior Analysis Practice Guidelines for the Treatment of Autism Spectrum Disorder" (currently in its 3rd edition), which are widely referenced by payers, providers, and regulators for determining medical necessity, treatment dosage (comprehensive vs. focused treatment models), supervision ratios, care coordination, and discharge planning. While CASP guidelines are not an enforceable ethics code like the BACB's, they represent professional consensus standards, and practicing consistently with them supports ethical obligations under BACB Code sections on effective treatment (2.01), scope of competence (1.05), and collaboration (2.10).
