What does INTRO-SCOPE say?

The Ethics Code for Behavior Analysts (Code) replaces the Professional and Ethical Compliance Code for Behavior Analysts (2014). All BCBA and BCaBA applicants and certificants are required to adhere to the Code effective January 1, 2022. The Code guides the professional activities of behavior analysts. The term "behavior analyst" in the Code refers to individuals who hold BCBA or BCaBA certification or who have submitted a complete application for BCBA or BCaBA certification. A separate ethics code exists for RBTs. The Code is not exhaustive; behavior analysts must use professional judgment in situations not explicitly addressed. The Code does not supersede applicable laws, but behavior analysts should attempt to resolve conflicts between the Code and the law.
